Shoaib Malik, a veteran Pakistan all-rounder, has dismissed the notion that players slow down as they age, claiming that his fitness is comparable to that of a 25-year-old player.

Currently playing in the Bangladesh Premier League, Shoaib is one of Rangpur Riders’ best run scorers (BPL). He frequently faces off against athletes half his age.

“Trust me, even though I am the oldest member of the team, my fitness is comparable to that of a 25-year-old. What inspires me is that I still enjoy coming to the ground and believe that the hunger exists. Malik, who served as a member of the Pakistani team for the T20 World Cup in 2021, made it clear that he is still available for selection in the T20 format and has no plans to retire from the game.

According to Malik, he enjoyed the people and food of Bangladesh and had a special fondness for the fish there.

“Bangladeshis are wonderful people. They are caring individuals that assist their team. I enjoy the meals here, particularly the seafood. Even the players in Bangladesh are nice guys who want to get better. When I visit Bangladesh, it’s a complete package “He stated.

It is important to note that Malik has scored 225 runs for Rangpur Riders in seven BPL 2023 games.
