T20 World Cup is set to take place in America and West Indies

• Florida, Los Angeles, and Auckland have been shortlisted to host the event.
• Arch-rivals India and Pakistan are likely to play each other in Florida, USA.
• For the first time, America will host an ICC event.

T20 World Cup: Arch-rivals India and Pakistan are likely to face off during the T20 World Cup in Florida, USA, in 2024.

The T20 World Cup is set to take place in America and the West Indies in June 2024, and the International Cricket Council (ICC) reportedly conducted reconnaissance of those locations.

According to worldwide media, three American cities—Florida, Los Angeles, and Auckland—have been shortlisted to host the massive event. The delegation from ICC went to these cities to check over the facilities.

Atul Rai, the president of USA Cricket, discussed the potential of hosting India and Pakistan in Florida.

“The ICC events team, lead by Chris Tetley, travelled up and down the country in May to assess a variety of grounds in various towns. They returned a few weeks later (December) and focused their search “Rai is quoted as stating.

“The Pakistan-India encounter should be hosted in the United States, as India’s T20 games against the West Indies in Florida were completely sold out,” Rai added.

It should be remembered that the West Indies and America were awarded shared hosting rights for the T20 World Cup 2024. For the first time, America will host an ICC event.

2010 saw the last T20 World Cup held in the West Indies. In the season’s finale, England defeated Australia by seven wickets to win.

The T20 World Cup will now be defended by England in 2024 in America and the West Indies.
