Kamran Akmal ends up his career from professional cricket
Kamran Akmal, the wicket-keeper batsman for Pakistan, has declared his retirement from playing professional cricket.
Akmal announced he will no longer participate in the Pakistan Super League as a player in order to focus on other tasks. Akmal is currently acting as a temporary batting adviser for Peshawar Zalmi.
The 41-year-old was been appointed chairman of the selection committee that the PCB set up to oversee the U13, U16, and U19 trials for choosing regional and district teams.
“I will no longer be able to play cricket because of my new responsibilities as a selector and a coach,” he told the media on Tuesday.
During Pakistan’s 2002 tour to Zimbabwe, Kamran Akmal made his ODI and Test debuts. He quickly built a name for himself as an attacking wicket-keeper batsman.
Rashid Latif and Moin Khan, who were both towards the twilight of their careers, were no longer in competition because to his versatility as a floater in the middle order and an aggressive opening batter.
Despite batting in the middle order, Akmal effectively filled the opening vacuum for Pakistan, notably in ODIs. His greatest achievement as a starter occurred in 2005, when he hit back-to-back hundreds against the visiting English squad.
Even Ian Healy was impressed by his quick development with the bat and gloves during the 2005–06 season.
