Major League Cricket: Draft is all set to take place in Houston, Texas in USA

• MLC is scheduled to take place in Houston, Texas, in the United States on March 19.
• League will feature 18 players from Dallas, LA, NY, SF, Seattle, and Washington, D.C.
• MLC Domestic Player Combine will take place at the MLC National Cricket Center.

On March 19, Major League Cricket (MLCdraft )’s is scheduled to take place in Houston, Texas, in the United States. This summer, the MLC will have its first season, including six teams.

At the NASA Johnson Space Center’s Space Center Houston, the league’s inaugural draught will take place. There will be squads made up of 18 players from Dallas, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Seattle, and Washington, D.C., with a maximum of seven foreign players on each roster.

“Major League Cricket will feature many of the best T20 players from around the world in its inaugural season playing alongside the strongest domestic talent in the United States. The MLC draft will set the teams in place for what will be a summer of thrilling T20 competition to be played at a level never before seen in the United States. We’re excited to see the teams take flight following the draft event on March 19th at Space Center Houston,” said Justin Geale, Tournament Director, Major League Cricket.

The MLC Domestic Player Combine, scheduled to take place at the MLC National Cricket Center at Prairie View Cricket Complex (PVCC) near Houston from March 4–16, will be held after the draught. Under the watchful eye of coaches and scouts from the six upcoming MLC franchises, more than 50 of the top domestic cricket players in the United States will participate in a series of training sessions, match simulations, and practise matches.

Additionally, as part of their preparation for the forthcoming 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier Play-off, USA Cricket has been invited to incorporate the MLC Domestic Player Combine. This invitation includes access to training facilities, competitive practise matches, and the utilisation of specialised resources prior to this significant global event.

The camp will give the six MLC teams sending scouts an invaluable look at America’s top domestic players, and players selected will have the chance to compete against some of the biggest names in the world in the ground-breaking competition slated for July 13–30, 2023.

For the past two years, Minor League Cricket has been the top domestic T20 league in America. Players who have played in that league in the past will automatically be eligible for selection in the draught.

The MLC Network YouTube channel will host a unique presentation that will allow viewers to watch the draught live. A small number of overseas player signings will be revealed before of the tournament, along with the whole set of playing rules and the draught process.

On July 13, 2023, the Major League Cricket site Grand Prairie Stadium in Grand Prairie, Texas, will host the league’s inaugural game. The first-ever MLC championship final will be held on July 30, 2023, and the 2023 season will include of 19 games spread over 18 days.
