Mohammad Amir, the star bowler for the Karachi Kings, has stated that facing Babar Azam or a tailender batsman would be the same for him because he is purely focused on his goal, which is to take a wicket.

Fans were ecstatic for the battle between the Kings and Peshawar Zalmi in the eighth season of the Pakistan Super League after Babar joined the Yellow Storm for PSL 8.

The PSL 8 schedule was released by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), and fans have been anticipating the matchups between the top players ever since.

The two players will square off when the Kings take on Zalmi in their first match of the tournament on February 14 at the National Bank Cricket Arena in Karachi.

Meanwhile, ahead of the much-anticipated encounter between the two sides, Amir stated that, while such trials keep him focused, it makes little difference if he gets Babar’s or a tailender’s wicket.

“These kind of games and player rivalries keep players alert. These types of difficulties appeal to me because they keep me focused “Amir stated in an interview with a local television station. “My duty is to take wickets and win games for my team, so facing Babar or a tailender batting at number 10 won’t be any different.”

Imad Wasim led the Karachi Kings to their lone PSL championship, which they achieved in 2020 after defeating Lahore Qalandars in the championship game.

The team lead by Imad will strive to capture a second championship this year.

It is important to note that the PSL 8 began at the Multan Cricket Stadium following an extravagant opening ceremony that was hailed as the “best-ever.”

Eleven games will be played in Rawalpindi, nine games each in Karachi and Lahore, and five games in Multan.

Matches in the afternoon will begin at 2 p.m. local time, while matches in the evening will begin at 7 p.m. in Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi. Multan’s evening bouts will start around six o’clock.

It is important to note that the winner will not only receive the Supernova Trophy but also a check for Rs120 million, with the runners-up receiving a check for Rs48 million.
