The cash-rich Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 will clash with the upcoming New Zealand tour of Pakistan.

In Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Karachi, the Kiwis are scheduled to play five Twenty20 Internationals and as many One-Day Internationals. The tour is scheduled for May 7 through April 14.

The sixteenth IPL season will begin on March 31 in Ahmedabad. The release of New Zealand Cricket (NZC) players for IPL season 16 had been confirmed.

Devon Conway and Mitchell Santner, both of Chennai Super Kings, Kane Williamson, of the Gujarat Titans, Tim Southee, of the Kolkata Knight Riders, and Mitchell Santner, of the Chennai Super Kings, have been granted permission to join their respective teams prior to the start of the most recent IPL season.

Finn Allen (Illustrious Challengers Bangalore), Lockie Ferguson (KKR) and Glenn Phillips (Sunrisers Hyderabad) will join their groups subsequent to playing first ODI against Sri Lanka which is planned on Walk 25.

Kyle Jamieson (CSK) and Trent Boult (Rajasthan Royals) are the other New Zealand players who will participate in IPL season 16.

Due to their IPL commitments, prominent New Zealand players will therefore miss the Pakistan tour.

A full-strength New Zealand team went to Pakistan earlier this year to play three one-day internationals. They won the series 2-1 against Pakistan.

After their tour is over, the New Zealand team will travel to Pakistan from Sri Lanka. During their current tour of Sri Lanka, NZC is expected to announce their Pakistan tour squad.

Meanwhile, Pakistan will take on Afghanistan in three Twenty20 Internationals in Sharjah. The players of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), including the regular captain Babar Azam, have received rest days.

A young T20I team will face Afghanistan under Shadab Khan’s leadership.
