Mumbai Cobras vs Karachi Monarchs to open historic baseball league

• The inaugural game will be between the Mumbai Cobras and Karachi Monarchs.

The first-ever professional baseball league for the Middle East and Indian Subcontinent, run by Baseball United, will feature games between the Mumbai Cobras and Karachi Monarchs.

On November 10, 2023, the game will take place at the Dubai International Stadium, a cricket pitch that Baseball United will turn into a baseball field.

The four-team event, which will take place in Dubai from Friday, November 10 to Sunday, November 12, will include the India-Pakistan encounter.

“Mumbai vs Karachi might be the most epic way to open any sports league,” said Kash Shaikh, Baseball United President, CEO, and majority owner.

“When teams from those two nations compete in cricket, nearly 500 million people watch. If we can inspire even a small fraction of that viewership, it will be an incredible stage for baseball in the region. And from an attendance standpoint, we are looking forward to welcoming baseball fans from all walks of life – and from dozens of different countries – to enjoy this classic showdown.”

On September 19, there will be a player draft for the competition.

against Saturday, November 11, a doubleheader will kick off the tournament’s last day, with the Karachi Monarchs taking against the Abu Dhabi Falcons. The Mumbai Cobras will compete against the Dubai Wolves, the host team, in the second match.

On Sunday, Dubai Wolves and Abu Dhabi Falcons will play in the tournament’s final game.

After the games in the evening on all three days, Baseball United will host a concert. The concerts will start about 45 minutes after the game ends. The concert that evening will be free of charge for spectators who have game tickets. The concert’s performers will be revealed the following month.

“There will be a price point for everyone, with great seats available across the transformed ‘ballpark.’ And everyone who attends will become a part of history, as we bring professional baseball here to the Middle East and South Asia for the first time.
