Former Pakistani cricketer Hasan Raza has raised eyebrows with his recent comments about the Indian cricket team and their use of the Decision Review System (DRS) following India’s dominant win over South Africa at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Sunday.

Raza’s remarks came after several contentious DRS decisions during the match, including a controversial LBW decision that went against South African batsman Heinrich Klaasen. The ball appeared to impact outside the line, but the DRS technology indicated an in-line impact, leading to Klaasen’s dismissal.

Another incident in question was the dismissal of Rassie van der Dussen, where Indian pacer Shami’s delivery seemed to be heading towards the leg stumps, but the DRS showed it hitting the middle stump.

Raza voiced his concerns about what he perceived as manipulation of the DRS technology in the cricketing world. “Jadeja picked up five wickets and finished with career-best figures. We were talking about technology where DRS was being taken. Van de Dussen was the batter, and the ball was hitting the middle stump after pitching on the leg stump. How is that possible?” Raza questioned during a local sports show.

“The impact was in line, but the ball was headed towards the leg stump. Like everyone else, I am just sharing my opinion. I am saying that such things should be checked. DRS is being manipulated, and that is clearly visible,” he added.

Raza went on to suggest that the Indian team had also manipulated DRS during matches against Pakistan in the past. “It was not the first time. The review in the match between Pakistan and South Africa and the last wicket partnership. They did not even apologize. Home conditions and home advantages come into play,” he emphasized.

He further claimed that the Indian team had manipulated DRS during the 2011 World Cup, which was held in India. Raza referred to the infamous incident involving Sachin Tendulkar and Saeed Ajmal, suggesting that technology had been used to India’s advantage.

In the match in question, India secured a one-sided victory over South Africa, winning by a margin of 243 runs. South Africa’s chase of a 327-run target ended with them being bowled out for just 83 runs.

Raza’s comments have sparked debate within the cricketing community, with many eager to explore the allegations of DRS manipulation further and its potential impact on the integrity of the game. The Indian cricket team has not yet responded to these claims, leaving room for more discussions and investigations into the matter.
