Kylian Mbappe, the forward for Paris Saint-Germain, has declared his intention to exit the club at the conclusion of the season, as his current contract with the French team is set to end in June.

Mbappe, who transferred to PSG from Monaco in 2017 on a €120m deal, is preparing to leave the French capital after a seven-year stint.

The French player will say goodbye to PSG after securing 14 trophies, including six league titles. Despite coming close to victory in 2020, he was unable to lead his team to European success, as they were defeated by Bayern Munich in the Champions League final.

“I wanted to speak to you. I have always said that I would speak with you when the time comes. And so I wanted to announce to you all that it’s my last year at Paris Saint-Germain,” Mbappe revealed in a social media video.

“I will not extend and the adventure will come to an end in a few weeks. I will play my last game at the Pac Des Princes on Sunday.

“It’s a lot of emotions, many years where I had the chance and a great honour to be a member of the biggest French club. One of the best in the world, which allowed me to arrive here, to have my first experience in a club with a lot of pressure, to grow as a player of course, by being alongside some of the best in history some of the greatest champions to meet a lot of people, to grow as a man as well.

“With all the glory and the mistakes, I have made. First of all, I want to thank the teammates all of the teammates that I had, all the coaches Unai Emry, Thomas Tuchel, Mauricio Pochettino, Christophe Galtier and Luis Enrique,” he further added.

With Mbappe’s departure from the French club now confirmed, attention has shifted to Real Madrid, which is expected to be his next stop.

According to numerous reports, the 25-year-old already signed his contract with Madrid in February, and the Spanish club could announce the deal after the Champions League final, scheduled for June 1.

Mbappe has long been on the radar of Los Blancos, who have been attempting to sign the Frenchman since his time at AS Monaco, but the deal never materialized.

After nearly seven years of waiting, Madrid is finally set to acquire Mbappe, who will join the ranks of Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo Goes, Jude Bellingham, and others in the upcoming season.
