Jason Gillespie, Pakistan’s head coach for test cricket, is set to land in Pakistan on the 7th of July to supervise the Pakistan Shaheens’ camp in Karachi.
The ex-Australian cricketer will mentor the Shaheens throughout their Australian tour, where they’ll compete in two four-day games against Bangladesh A.
A pre-season fitness camp, which commenced on June 24, will wrap up on July 7. Post-camp, the team will be narrowed down to 15 players for the Pakistan Shaheens, who will engage in a training camp from July 8 to 13 in preparation for their Darwin tour.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced, “In Darwin, Pakistan Shaheens will play two four-day matches against Bangladesh ‘A’, two 50-over matches against Northern Territory and Bangladesh, and also participate in the nine-team Top End T20 Series.”
It was further stated, “Jason Gillespie will oversee the training camp for the Pakistan Shaheens from July 8 to 13 and will accompany them to Darwin as the head coach. Post the second four-day match against Bangladesh ‘A’, concluding on July 29, he will return to Pakistan to take up his duties as the national team’s head coach and start preparations for the two-Test series against Bangladesh.
Mohammad Masroor will supervise the pre-season fitness and fielding camp and will also serve as Assistant Coach-cum-Manager in Darwin. Abdul Rehman will assume the role of white-ball head coach and will join the Pakistan Shaheens on July 28 for the two 50-over and Top End T20 Series matches from August 4 to 18.
Players currently engaged in competitive cricket in the UK and those who took part in the recent ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 are exempt from the pre-season fitness and fielding camp.”
The national selection committee has invited the following players for the pre-season fitness and fielding camp and the Pakistan Shaheen squad:

Haseebullah, Hunain Shah, Kamran Ghulam, Kashif Ali, Khurram Shahzad, Mehran Mumtaz, Mohammad Huraira, Mubasir Khan, Muhammad Irfan Khan, Omair Bin Yousuf, Sahibzada Farhan, Shahnawaz Dahani, Tayyab Tahir, and Umar Amin.
The captain and an additional player will be named in due time.

The press release also mentioned, “The two four-day matches are scheduled bilateral series events, hosted by Northern Territory Cricket (NTC) on behalf of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). The PCB plans to host Bangladesh A in August.”
