ICC unveils action-packed promo for 2025 Champions Trophy
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has unveiled an exhilarating promotional video for the 2025 ICC Men’s Champions Trophy, featuring cricketing superstars in a cinematic action sequence.
The video showcases Pakistan’s Shaheen Afridi and Shadab Khan, along with England’s Phil Salt, in a thrilling, wrestling-inspired storyline. Drawing from the high-energy visuals of Mission: Impossible, the promo portrays an exciting heist for the Champions Trophy.
The sequence opens with Shaheen and Shadab launching a covert operation to secure the trophy. India’s Hardik Pandya makes a dramatic entrance, intensifying the suspense. Shadab, as Shaheen’s loyal sidekick, lowers him into a vault through an air vent, delivering Hollywood-style action.
Hardik is shown performing acrobatic stunts to dodge lasers, while Phil Salt adds intrigue with his electrifying appearance. Afghanistan’s Mohammad Nabi takes an underground route, adding layers to the narrative.
In a nod to WWE fans, the ICC shared an additional clip of Shaheen, Shadab, and Salt performing a fist bump inspired by The Shield, elevating the campaign’s excitement.
The eight-team tournament will feature 15 matches from February 19 to March 9, hosted in Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Dubai.
Group A includes Pakistan, India, New Zealand, and Bangladesh, while Group B features Afghanistan, South Africa, England, and Australia.
Pakistan will face New Zealand in the opening match on February 19 in Karachi. The much-anticipated Pakistan-India clash is set for February 23 in Dubai.
