Educating the forgotten

LAHORE: It’s around 12 in the afternoon. A class of 25-30 students between two and six years of age is listening attentively to their teacher Kristi (name changed). The classroom is in a three-story building in old Lahore’s Munshi Ladha neighbourhood. Education here is informal — no age restrictions, no uniforms and no set curriculum. It’s called the ‘Learning Hub’.
