On Thursday, WhatsApp finally released the long-awaited “Disappearing Messages” update with a timeframe of seven days before the text is deleted automatically.
As per the article published, during this month company provide its 2-billion plus clients with the feature of disappearing messages.
The function will be accessible to not only individuals but also group chats. However, in group chats, it will be the admin who will allow messages in group chats to disappear.
The Facebook-owned enterprise while addressing its objective told that, “To make conversations on WhatsApp feel as close to in-person as possible, which means they shouldn’t have to stick around forever”.
“That’s why we’re excited to introduce the option to use disappearing messages on WhatsApp. When the ‘disappearing messages’ feature is turned on, new messages sent to a chat will disappear after 7 days, helping the conversation feel lighter and more private.”
The feature will activate for Android and iOS (Individual Chat) by opening the WhatsApp chat followed by tapping contact name, and messages disappear. Furthermore, if the option of prompt appears tap Continue > Select On.
