The world’s largest messaging App WhatsApp is working to develop a new update that will bring some new changes to the software.
As per reports, this new changes in the software will restrict some Apple iPhone users from using the application that was on old IOS versions.
WhatsApp currently has 2 billion-plus users worldwide and, reportedly working on an update that will not be compatible with some iPhone users with old IOS versions.
WABetainfo said in a Twitter post that,
“WhatsApp Messenger beta 2.21.50 drops the support for iOS 9,” this means the people who have iPhone 4s or older iPhones will not be able to use WhatsApp anymore.
However, the users with an iPhone 5 or updated models can continue to use the platform.
Earlier, the global messaging application had officially released the voice and video calling feature on the desktop versions of its app.
Only computers with windows 10 64-bit version 1903 and newer and macOS 10.13 and newer will be able to benefit from the new one-to-one feature.
WhatsApp said in a statement that,
“We’re excited to announce that private and secure one-to-one voice and video calls are now available on WhatsApp’s desktop app,”
“We’ve seen significant increases in people calling one another on WhatsApp, often for long conversations. Last New Year’s Eve, we broke the record for the most calls ever made in a single day with 1.4 billion voice and video calls. With so many people still apart from their loved ones, and adjusting to new ways of working, we want conversations on WhatsApp to feel as close to in-person as possible, regardless of where you are in the world or the tech, you’re using”, WhatsApp added.
