Pakistani TikTokers are happy as the ban on the app has been uplifted across the country today (1st April 2021).
The ByteDance owned app released a statement in which it said,
“We are happy to revive the TikTok app in Pakistan. The restoration of TikTok is a testament to TikTok’s commitment to promoting a safe and positive online community.”
The video-sharing app further said in a statement that,
“TikTok has provided a platform for talented Pakistani creators. TikTok administration is committed to ensuring all steps are taken through meaningful dialogue and cooperation with the PTA.”
“TikTok PTA is hopeful for further investment in Pakistan by providing a stable environment. TikTok is committed to keeping important economic opportunities open for Pakistani creators.”
On the other hand, Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) said in a tweet,
“In pursuance to the orders of the Peshawar High Court, PTA has issued directions to the service providers to unblock access to the TikTok App.”

However, the TikTok App management has been told to ensure that vulgar and objectionable content are to be made inaccessible in accordance with the PECA provisions and directions of the Honorable Court.
The PHC has directed to unblock the App, after the hearing of a case pertaining to TikTok, today. TikTok App was made inaccessible on March 11, 2021.
