Google is allowing YouTube Music users to make their own stations
Google is reportedly allowing YouTube Music users to make their own stations, according to some recent reports. These brand-new custom radio stations will be based on the songs of particular artists.
What songs to play will be determined by the algorithm. The “Radio Builder” is the name of a new Youtube Music feature. On Tuesday, the rollout began. On the YouTube Music homepage in the iOS or Android app, users can find it by scrolling to the “Your music tuner” section.
The important point to note here is that when creating your custom station, users can select up to 30 artists and choose whether they want to hear only music from them or songs from similar musicians.
Users of YouTube music can also tell it to play songs they know, new songs, or a mix of the two, as well as apply filters. It even allows you to fine-tune the mix.
Users can, for example, create a station that plays upbeat new releases from Eden, Khalid, and Pup, or one that plays their favorite mellow deep cuts from Boygenius and its members’ solo catalogues.
According to reports, YouTube reportedly began testing this function last year. The good news is that it’s encouraging to see that this feature will endure.
There were undoubtedly a lot of algorithm-driven stations and mixes on YouTube Music already. Everyone enjoys listening to a particular genre of music but doesn’t feel like manually creating a playlist. Therefore, having such control seems to be a wise choice.
Don’t worry if the feature hasn’t been made available to you yet. Soon, it will also be available on your YouTube Music App.
