Instagram down for thousands of users worldwide. now restored
Late Wednesday, a substantial number of Instagram users were unable to access the popular photo-sharing platform. According to Downdetector.com, a service outage tracking website, Meta-owned Instagram was offline, affecting thousands of users worldwide. Instagram, thankfully, has been restored.
More than 46,000 users in the United States had reported difficulties accessing the platform, according to DownDetector. Almost 3,000 customers in the United Kingdom and India reported the problem.
Downdetector collects outage information by combining status updates from multiple sources, including user-submitted faults on its site. Nonetheless, the cause of the outage is evident. Instagram users were having trouble logging in, publishing content, and accessing certain programme features.
According to the tracking website, 44% of users had problems logging in to their Instagram accounts. The Instagram website was unavailable to 37% of users. The remaining 19% of Instagram users were having trouble publishing any content.
Despite the error warnings, some users were able to access Instagram as usual. Another huge outage hit Instagram last month, preventing users from publishing new posts or Stories.
The most recent downtime lasted many hours, leaving many users unhappy and unable to utilise the platform. The outage was caused by a technical issue on Instagram’s end, according to the Instagram Comms Twitter account. Further details have yet to be revealed by the company.
