Dubai (ICC): The race for the ICC Men’s Player of the Month award for June has intensified, with three standout cricketers vying for the prestigious accolade.

Travis Head from Australia, Sean Williams from Zimbabwe, and Wanindu Hasaranga from Sri Lanka have been shortlisted for their remarkable performances during the month.

Travis Head displayed his prowess during the World Test Championship Final against India. In a high-pressure situation, Head’s aggressive left-handed batting style guided Australia to victory with a remarkable century, scoring 163 runs off just 174 deliveries.

Head continued his impressive form in the Ashes series opener, contributing a valuable half-century.

Sean Williams proved to be the backbone of Zimbabwe’s batting lineup during the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier tournament. The veteran batsman showcased his consistency by registering three centuries, including an unbeaten knock of 102* against Nepal.

Williams’ brilliant performances weren’t enough to secure Zimbabwe’s qualification for the upcoming 50-over World Cup, but he stood out as a shining light for his team.

Wanindu Hasaranga etched his name in the record books by becoming only the second bowler, after Pakistan’s Waqar Younis, to achieve three consecutive five-wicket hauls in ODI cricket.

Hasaranga’s exceptional bowling skills played a crucial role in Sri Lanka’s successful campaign in the Cricket World Cup Qualifier tournament.

With an impressive tally of 20 wickets, he emerged as the leading wicket-taker in the event, ensuring Sri Lanka’s qualification for the upcoming World Cup.

These three cricketers have displayed outstanding skills and significantly contributed to their respective teams’ success. The ICC Men’s Player of the Month award will recognise and honor the standout performer among them, highlighting their exceptional contributions to the game of cricket.
