Microsoft is preparing for a big year with Windows, especially with the introduction of AI-enhanced PCs from major manufacturers coming this summer. There are questions about the timeline and features of Windows 11 version 24H2, how it will be optimized for AI PCs, when it will be released, and its debut on Arm PCs.
According to insiders, Microsoft is close to finalizing the base build for Windows 11 version 24H2. They plan to deliver this version, known as RTM, to manufacturers like Dell, HP, and Lenovo in early April. RTM is a stable version of Windows for integration into new devices, but it doesn’t include all features.
Even though the RTM build will be sent out in April, the complete version of Windows 11 version 24H2 is expected later in the summer. This delay allows Microsoft to refine features, including AI capabilities to be revealed at a May 20 event.
The rollout of version 24H2 will be in two phases: June and September. This approach is influenced by the needs of upcoming Snapdragon X Series Arm-based hardware, requiring version 24H2. So, OEMs launching new devices with these chips during the summer will follow this release strategy.
