Wife of former cricketer, captain of Pakistan national cricket team, Wasim Akram, took her twitter handle to to draw attention of the concerned authorities to the alarming situation at Karachi’s Clifton beach.
Shaniera Akram, wife of Wasim Akram requested the authorities to close down the beach for the public until it is safe.
“I have walked on Clifton beach everyday for the last 4 years and I have never been scared until today,” she wrote.

Sharing multiple photos, Sheniera stated that, “Medical waste, syringes, viles of blood that has come in from the ocean has spread across Clifton beach for kilometres. The beach is biohazardous and in a state of emergency.”
Yesterday, Heavy rain lashed several parts of Karachi as another spell of monsoon hit the city, localities and roads of different areas were submerged by rainwater.
Drainage water ran over the roads as drainage and sanitation systems are poor.
The city’s drainage canals cannot handle all the drainage after heavy rain falls.
Dirt coming out from the drainage canals have increased the probability of severe deceases.
District administration has yet not taken any measures after the last rain spell, which almost drowned all of the metropolis.
