A California ambulance driver was jailed last week after allegedly sexually assaulting a minor while transporting her to the hospital.

According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, Jason Anderson, 22, was on duty in the back of an American Medical Response ambulance on Friday when he “sexually attacked and sought sexual activities from the juvenile patient.”

Anderson, of Wildomar, California, was arrested and placed into the Cois M. Byrd Detention Center on charges of felony sexual violence and criminal sexual penetration by force on a 14- to 17-year-old victim.

Anderson was freed from jail the next day after posting $75,000 bail. Officials with the sheriff’s office fear there might be more victims.

American Medical Response officials told KTLA that an internal inquiry was underway and that the event had been reported to the Riverside Sheriff’s Department for further investigation.

“During the course of our internal inquiry, the employee in issue was placed on administrative leave and has not worked since the day the alleged event occurred,” American Medical Response officials stated.

Anderson’s next court appearance is scheduled on June 21.
