Laura Woods stunned a troll who had inquired if she had had sex with Adebayo Akinfenwa with a harsh retort.

The broadcaster unwittingly sparked outrage on social media this week when she vanished from view during a talkSPORT live feed. Viewers accused her of using drugs, to which she replied on Twitter: “Hell on earth… You absolute doughnuts, I’m yawning. It’s a morning programme that’s being streamed live. Make a swaying motion with your heads.”

Woods was then confronted with another accusation from a fan, who sarcastically inquired, “Is it true about you shagging akinfenwa???” “I waited, but he was too preoccupied with your mother,” she said.

Akinfenwa, a striker for Wycombe Wanderers, was amused by his colleague’s remark while co-hosting the Super 6 podcast with Woods. “LW is too quick for u,” he tweeted, accompanied with many laughing emojis.

After the video of Woods “sniffing a line,” which some said she was doing, went viral on social media, she received a lot of support. One commenter said: “It’s incredible how people’s minds function! Let’s just laugh it off, @laura woodsy, and focus on defeating United tomorrow.”

In recent years, Woods, who now works for Sky Sports, has sprung into the scene as a popular broadcaster. She has been crowned SJA Sports Presenter of the Year on two occasions.
