Fox News called out on spreading racism by Sen. Chris Murphy

Murphy said on The Sunday Show with Jonathan Capehart, “There are two truly startling peculiarities that are occurring in this nation at the present time. The first is the standardization of prejudice. Right, you have bigoted philosophy and discourse presently installed inside significant American organizations – the Republican Party, the previous president’s political activity, Fox News – and it is filling a degree of viciousness that we have never seen. 75% of all radical assaults in this nation are committed by racial oppressors. The second stressing peculiarity is the standardization of savagery in this country. We have had a sensational spike in weapon murders and mass shootings throughout the span of the most recent couple of years, and they scarcely stand out enough to be noticed.”

Individuals like Tucker Carlson go through each late evening normalizing bigotry and bigoted philosophy like the substitution hypothesis. Until the Buffalo shooting, the standard discussion never examined the combined effect of the spread of bigotry by Tucker Carlson, Donald Trump, and others in the Republican Party.

Sen. Murphy was right. Fox News and the Republican Party under Trump are involving bigotry as a political strategy, and keeping in mind that they don’t compel anybody to pull the trigger, they are radicalizing their watchers toward viciousness.
