Man wrestles with shark at Smith Point Beach goes viral| Watch
This summer, shark sightings on Long Island have increased, and not just of harmless species. At least five swimmers and surfers have been bitten by sharks since June, and we know this for sure. Officials closed New York City’s Rockaway Beach and Long Island’s Smith Point County Park after sightings.
Unidentified guy wrestles with a shark at Smith Point Beach in a viral video. Emily Murray took the video on her phone on August 14 as people gathered on the beach to watch the man fight the shark. Emily Murray of the New York Post said, “He was fishing and caught the shark by accident.” “He was trying to cut it free and unhook it,” she said.
In the clip, the fisherman can be seen standing in shallow seas while trying to bring the shark to shore. A picture posted on Instagram shows the man pulling the shark onto the beach with the help of another person. The two men then took the shark off the hook and let it swim away.
