Constant rain in Chennai doesn’t stop a couple from getting married
The constant rain in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on Friday caused a lot of trouble for people all over the state capital. It also put a damper on things for a couple who were about to get married. A video from a media organization showed a bride and groom in Chennai’s Pulianthope area walking under an umbrella while getting soaked in the rain.
Even though it was raining, the couple looked happy and were smiling as they went into a temple that was also full of water. “Temple is flooded, and we got wet. I’m asking the government to at least clear the temple grounds and other public places,” the groom said.
According to the news agency, five weddings that were supposed to happen at the city’s Anjineyar temple had been planned for months but had to be put off because of the rain.

The roads in the capital were flooded after it rained for 12 hours straight in some parts of the state. On the flooded roads, people were riding their bikes while wearing raincoats.
Schools and colleges have been closed temporarily in several districts, including Chennai, Chengalpet, Kancheepuram, Tiruvallur, and Villupuram.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Thursday that a low-pressure system that formed in the Southwest Bay of Bengal off the coast of Sri Lanka will bring heavy rain to the southern peninsula until Sunday. Because of the low pressure, there has been heavy rain in parts of Chennai and in the nearby districts of Kancheepuram, Tiruvallur, and Chengalpet.
