Nobody disagrees that stealing is wrong. Even yet, many muggers use unfair, unlawful ways to make a quick buck. One criminal tried to take a high-end phone from Phone Market in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire, UK but gave it back to the store manager.

But how? Did the thug repent or visit a temple? Nope. When our “clever person” rushed to the exit after stealing a 1,600-pound handset, he ran into a jammed glass door. The store manager’s quick thinking won.

According to sources, the event occurred on December 4 at 4 PM local time. After the big escape turned into a damp squib, he had to return the phone and beg the store to let him leave.

Afzal Adam runs the store. Metro News reports that Afzal installed the door lock in 2020 for $250.

as per Afzal Adam, “With people wearing masks and balaclavas, I was worried about not being able to identify anyone if they did steal from my store. He would have gotten away with 1,600 pounds worth of merchandise, so the mechanism has paid for itself. I had the owner of another local store come in and ask what mechanism we had because they were looking for the same thing.”
