One exercise that works multiple muscles in your body is pull-ups. But it’s also not something that comes naturally. The effort required to lift one’s body and exercise is great. Even a skilled person could complete a set of 100. Have you ever come across someone who performed 8,008 pull-ups in a single day, though? Sounds absurd, doesn’t it?
Jaxon Italiano, an Australian fitness enthusiast, broke the Guinness World Record by performing 8,008 pull-ups in 24 hours to raise money for a charity that helps 400,000 people with dementia.
On his fundraising page, Italiano stated, “I’m hoping to raise $1 for every pull-up I complete. But I need your assistance! Please contribute to my efforts and help me reach my goal of beating dementia. All funds raised will help Dementia Australia continue to provide vital support services to people living with dementia, their families, and carers. Counselling, support groups, education, and training are among the services available.”
Italiano had to overcome physical injury, mental stress, and rhabdomyolysis, a serious medical condition in which damaged muscle tissue leaks its proteins and electrolytes into the blood, according to the Guinness World Records website, which makes his accomplishment all the more impressive. The disease may be fatal or permanently disable a person.
Italiano stated to Guinness World Records, “I decided to break the world record for most pull-ups in 24 hours because pull-ups are something I am good at, and I believe that if you are good at something, then you should take it as far as you can.”
Italiano even posted about trying to break this world record on his Instagram.
