Dubai Police initiates ‘Sport for Support’ Ramadan charity campaign
Dubai Police has launched a ‘Sport for Support’ Ramadan charity campaign, aiming to collect Dh3 million. The fundraising drive will aid various projects, such as charitable endowments, family assistance programs, medical aid, mosque construction, Quran purchases, water well construction, and the provision of water tanks.
The initiative plans to involve more than 100,000 participants in sports activities during Ramadan, starting approximately on March 11 this year. Collaborating with entities such as the Dar Al Ber Society, Dubai Economy and Tourism, and Dubai Sports Council, the campaign enables individuals to contribute through Dar Al Ber platforms at sporting events or through a designated online link.
During a recent press briefing at the Dubai Police General Headquarters, the Athletes Council introduced the campaign, with notable attendees including Dr. Maryam Anas Al Matroushi, Captain Ahmad bin Thabou Al Falasi, and representatives from Dar Al Ber, Al Wasl Club, and Fitness Time Gym. The ‘Sport for Support’ initiative will host various programs throughout Ramadan, including ‘Iftar with Leaders’, allowing participants to engage in sports activities and interact with Dubai Police leaders and esteemed guests before iftar.
Moreover, the campaign will feature at the ADNOC Professional League, NAS sports tournament, and the Dubai World Cup, aiming to underscore the significance of sports, promote charitable endeavors, and raise awareness about health and fitness in the community.
