Did you know the actress’s hair caught fire while cutting the birthday cake?
American actress and designer Nicole Richie's beautiful birthday turned into a horrible...
Internet users were shocked to see a video of a girl lighting a candle with her own smoke. Twitter fans want to know how the girl aced it after watching the footage more than 10.6 million times.
The girl is seen extinguishing the candle with a throwaway glass in the video, which was posted by Twitter user Science girl. She then lights a lighter and holds it close to the candle, directly in the path of the flame’s vapours. A little ball of fire is seen descending and lighting the candle in a split second. The girl is surprised by the astounding outcome.
The Twitter user described the occurrence by writing, “See that white smoke when the candle goes out. Vaporized paraffin wax is that. This fuel trail is combustible and can catch fire because it contains unburned fuel particles, including unburned carbon, as can be seen above.
Then, a curious user enquired as to whether or not fuel attracts smoke in actuality. Science kid stated that “in the actual world, massive flames emit enormous plumes of smoke in which remaining fuel that is not totally consumed can restart.”
Many users were interested and wanted to give it a try. “I must give this a go. So nice,” one user said. A different user also offered an explanation. “Let’s see how much I remember from high school chemistry,” the comment said, “combustion needs oxygen, a hydrocarbon fuel, and a spark. In the case of a candle, the wax serves as the fuel. When the wax is heated up and transformed into a vapour, it feeds the flame even more.
