New Zealand Man’s Remarkable 941 Bungee Jumps in a Day

• Kiwi Mike Heard breaks world record: 941 bungee jumps in a day.
• Raises funds for Mental Health Foundation.
• Live-streamed event raises mental health awareness.

In a single day, a man from New Zealand unofficially broke the world record by bungee jumping 941 times. With 430 jumps using a 16–32 foot cable, Mike Heard first set the record for the most bungee jumps in a 24-hour period outdoors in 2017. However, François-Marie Dibon broke his record in 2022 with 765 jumps.

Heard completed 941 bungee jumps in a day while live streaming his effort to break the record at the Auckland Harbor Bridge. Every now and again you get a feeling similar to motion nausea or sea sickness, but I just kind of ignored it and carried on. After his effort, Heard told the Australian Broadcasting Corp., “So it didn’t slow us down or affect us at all.”

Funds were raised for the Mental Health Foundation by the record attempt. Heard told the media, “We’ve got a problem in this country and I want to help expose that and get Kiwis talking, I want my kids to grow up with a positive state of mental health, and it’s a great platform and opportunity to do that.”

According to Heard, proof of the attempt is being officially filed to Guinness World Records in an attempt to reclaim the title.
