Who could have imagined that the viral blue-eyed tea seller would one day appear on “Shark Tank Pakistan”, demanding Rs 1 crore (around Rs 30 lakh Indian rupees) for a five percent equity in his cafe, “Cafe Chai Wala”?

Arshad Khan, dressed in a sleek black suit, entered *Shark Tank Pakistan* alongside his business partner Kazim Hasan. He highlighted his journey to fame on the show and urged the judges to invest in his business.

He said, “I had never left Islamabad before that. A lot of people advised me to start my own cafe. I had always wanted my own cafe, even when I was working at somebody else’s dhaba.”

The pandemic forced Arshad Khan’s first cafe to close in 2020, but he re-launched it in October of the same year and has since turned it into a profitable venture. He now runs two operational cafes in Pakistan. Additionally, three franchise outlets in England generate him 35,000 Pakistani rupees as a five percent royalty.

Arshad Khan expressed his ambition to open more profitable outlets worldwide and outlined his vision for expansion. He explained his decision to expand in London, highlighting his strategy to target the South Asian diaspora and promote Pakistani culture abroad.

The café’s design features distinct Pakistani motifs and elements, inspired by street aesthetics, giving it a unique appeal.

Two sharks, Junaid Iqbal and Faisal Aftab, praised Khan’s ideas but declined the deal, citing his limited expertise in the hospitality industry. However, Shark Rabeel Warraich offered Khan and Kazim 1 crore rupees for 24% equity. Ultimately, they secured a double-shark deal when Romanna Dada joined Warraich for the same terms. Another shark, Usman Bashir, proposed joining the duo with an offer for a combined equity of 30%.
