A tourist gets his $1 million watch snatched off from wrist

When a band of criminals targeted a tourist in Barcelona, they grabbed a £700,000 expensive watch from his wrist.

When the affluent American traveler was encircled by a group on Lledo Street in the city’s Gothic Quarter, the watch was stolen, he told authorities.

When the man was mugged, he was near the five-star Mercer Hotel, and he suffered minor injuries.

According to reports, he was returning to the hotel for a nap after lunch at a local restaurant when he was robbed.

Spanish police have begun an inquiry into the theft on Tuesday and are hunting for four men.

The watch in question is a Swiss-made Hublot, with unsubstantiated sources claiming it to be a Black Caviar Bang.

Limited-edition clocks with hundreds of precision-cut black diamonds are known as Black Caviar Bangs.

Each one takes more than 2,000 hours to complete from beginning to end and costs $1 million in the United States.

The provincial Mossos d’Esquadra police department, on the other hand, stated it couldn’t establish what kind of watch had been stolen.

‘I can confirm we are investigating the violent theft of a designer watch worth £685,000 following a report from a tourist,’ a police official said.

‘According to the victim, he was encircled by a band of muggers who took his watch from his wrist.’

‘The event occurred around 2.20 p.m. on Tuesday,’ according to the report. ‘At this time, no arrests have been made.’

Barcelona’s Gothic Quarter is always bustling with tourists, with tiny mediaeval lanes lined with trendy pubs, clubs, and restaurants.
