In the two weeks since the Texas school shootings as a result of gun violence, 43 of the 50 U.S. states have been shot.

Since May 24, more than 650 incidents have resulted in 730 deaths, according to the Violence Archives. 23 of those killed were children, more than Uvalde’s total death toll, and 66 were teenagers.

These figures provide a very worrying context for politicians in the US Capitol. Because they want to agree on how to amend the US gun laws, even if reform is needed. Politicians are listening to the testimony of parents and survivors of a school shooting in Uvalde two weeks ago.

The hearing of the US House Oversight Commission, called the Emergency Hearing to End the “Pandemic of Armed Violence,” took place at a time when Republicans and Democrats were divided over the draught law amending the gun law. This daily gun death rate shows that Uvalde Day was no exception in the United States. Just five days after the shooting, there were fewer gun deaths than on May 24.

In many cases, a person dies as a result of street or domestic violence or at the hands of a police officer. For example, on the day of Robb’s elementary school shooting, a 19-year-old boy died in a fight at his home in Akron, Ohio.

This is a selection of 33 events that took place on May 24th. However, there were 34 mass shootings in the United States in 2010. In Uvalde, at least four people were killed or injured in an incident.
