Police officer in Louisiana was ran over and dragged 100 feet

A defendant is accused of dragging and running over a police officer in Louisiana during an attempted traffic stop, leaving the officer in critical condition, according to the police.

The cop, according to Lafayette, Louisiana police, was dragged 100 feet early on Sunday. About 50 miles separate Lafayette from Baton Rouge.

Around 1:30 a.m., officers attempted to stop an automobile that was speeding through the city centre, according to a news release from Lafayette police spokesperson Sgt. Robin Green.

According to Green, the motorist sped off but hit a barricade. Then he turned around and assaulted the policeman. No one was hit by the bullet a cop fired at the automobile.

Although he remained stable, Green stated that the officer who was run over had “serious” injuries.

The motorist was detained on charges of trying to commit a first-degree murder, reckless driving, using physical force to obstruct an officer, and driving while inebriated.
