The Russian Ministry of Defense On Tuesday, signed state contracts with a total value of more than 500 billion rubles, which is equivalent to more than $8 billion, for the construction and supply of ballistic missiles and air defense systems for Russian forces.

During the annual Army 2022 international military-technical forum that was held near Moscow, contracts were signed by the ministry for the manufacturing of Sarmat intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs), S-500 air defense systems, and supply of Su-34 front-line bombers, according to an announcer at the conference.

According to TASS, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated in June that the first Sarmat intercontinental ballistic missile system would go on combat alert in Russia at the end of 2022. This information was obtained from the Russian government’s official news agency.
