Prisoner from jail arranged Greenock firebomb attacks
A prisoner who was allowed to use his cell phone during the pandemic planned the murder of his brother, who had been stabbed.
After setting off three fire bombs in Greenock, Inverclyde, in 2020, Richard Warnock pleaded guilty to a murder conspiracy charge.
Andrew Sutherland and his half-brother Leonard Cole jrfamily .’s members and properties were targeted.
Reece Warnock was attacked in 2019, and Warnock thought that the two men were to blame.
At the time, he was in HMP Shotts serving an 11-year sentence for trying to kill a woman and beating up her partner.
Sutherland was sentenced to six years in prison in November 2020 after pleading guilty to trying to kill Reece Warnock, who was 18, in Port Glasgow.
But Cole Jr. was found not guilty in a different court case.
The first attack happened on July 13, 2020, when a petrol bomb went off in the apartment where Cole’s parents, Rosaleen Sutherland and Leonard Cole sr., were staying.
Then, a drug user named George Miller was asked to attack the house again on September 14 of that year.
After putting gasoline on the door and in the letterbox, Mr. Miller set himself on fire and died.
The last thing that happened was on September 19 at a flat on Cumberland Road in the town.
There were also more threats to kill Cole Jr. and other people who knew him.
