Insiders suggest Matt Hancock may have to resign as a Tory MP if he doesn’t win the whip shortly.

The West Suffolk MP was suspended for appearing on I’m a Celeb… Leave!

Hancock is an independent MP until the whip is reinstated.

Conservative MPs have until December 5 to determine if they’ll run again.

Tory insiders told The Times they doubt Hancock will get the whip before then, therefore he couldn’t run as a Tory.

If Hancock makes the final, he can reapply to run as a Tory one week after his return.

West Suffolk Conservatives will have to nominate a new candidate if he doesn’t get the whip by then.

One source stated, ‘It’s evident he won’t run in the next election, so he’s gone to earn money.’

‘OK. He should step aside so the party can choose someone else.

If I were Simon Hart, I’d inquire if Matt’s actions justify returning the whip.

The insider cited Nadine Dorries, whose whip wasn’t reinstalled for six months after her stint.

Hancock’s spokesman claimed he’s in touch with his constituents for urgent problems.

Party executives weren’t thrilled about Hancock eating camel vaginas on a reality show.

The show would have him fly thousands of miles from Parliament and his own constituency during a cost-of-living crisis.

West Suffolk Conservative Association was among his detractors.

Andy Drummond, the association’s deputy chairman, said of Hancock’s ITV debut, ‘I’m looking forward to him eating kangaroo penis.’ Mentioned. I’m quotable.

The association could deselect Hancock even if he gets the whip back.

Tory councilor Ian Houlder hopes to unseat Hancock as West Sussex MP.

‘Hancock has such a thick skin and huge ego that it wouldn’t surprise me if he went back to the whip’s office and said, “I’ve turned over a new leaf, please take me back,”‘ he added.

Houlder never liked Hancock.

He told the Observer last year, ‘I thought he was a knob from the start.’
