New cutting-edge air defense systems arrives in Ukraine
New air defense systems donated by its western partners have arrived in the nation, Ukraine’s defense minister announced on Monday.
“These weapons will significantly strengthen #UAarmy and will make our skies safer,” Oleksii Reznikov said on Twitter. “We will continue to shoot down the enemy targets attacking us. Thank you to our partners: Norway, Spain and the US.”

Eight NASAMS – National Advanced Surface to Air Missile Systems – were promised to Ukraine by the US this summer. In October, the White House declared that the delivery of two systems will be accelerated.
NASAMS can intercept Russian cruise missiles and offers short- to medium-range defenses. The similar approach is employed to safeguard the airspace around Washington, DC.
