According to the National Disaster Management Agency of Malaysia, reported that the authorities have so far located six dead.

The early hours of local time on Friday saw a landslide in Batang Kali, Selangor state, north of the nation’s capital, Kuala Lumpur, which tore down a hillside into an organic farm with camping facilities, according to the state fire and rescue department.

Teh Lynn Xuan, 22, claimed that when the avalanche struck, she and 40 other campers were together. One of her brothers, according to her, passed away, while another is hospitalized.

“I heard a loud sound like thunder, but it was the rocks falling,” she told Media. “We felt the tents becoming unstable and soil was falling around us.

Luckily, I was able to leave the tent and go to someplace safer. My mother and I managed to crawl out and save ourselves.”
