The murder of a five-year-old child Nadia Zofia Kalinowska has been admittedly admitted by her stepfather.
In December 2019, Nadia Zofia Kalinowska was discovered injured at her family’s residence on Fernagh Drive in Newtownabbey. She later passed afterwards.
Accused of murder, her mother Aleksandra Wahab, 28, and the child’s stepfather Abdul Wahab, 34, went on trial on Wednesday at Belfast Crown Court.
Abdul Wahab admitted to murder when the case was reopened on Thursday.
In addition, he admitted guilt to two counts of intentionally causing great bodily harm that occurred between July and December of the same year and 24 hours before the death of the kid.
Mr. Justice O’Hara, the judge, gave Wahab a life sentence.
At a later time, a minimum timeframe before he can be released will be determined.
Aleksandra Wahab entered a guilty plea to permitting a child’s death and permitting a child to experience severe physical damage.
The jury was dismissed after the court accepted these pleas.
She was returned to detention on remand.
Nadia attended St. James’s PS in Newtownabbey as a P1 pupil.
