More than a dozen provinces in eastern Turkey are under Level 1 and 2 yellow and orange weather warnings through Tuesday.
The provinces of Osmaniye, Kahramanmaras, Adiyaman, and Malatya, which have been subject to a number of earthquakes over the past 12 hours, are among those covered by these weather warnings because of the snowy and windy circumstances.
Weather advisories are not in effect for Gaziantep, the location of the original 7.8 magnitude earthquake, but scattered rain showers and probable snow flurries are anticipated through Tuesday AM local time.
Across the region, temperatures are approximately 5 to 8 degrees Celsius below average. Over the next few days, low temperatures are expected to decrease close to the epicenter of the main earthquake.
By Wednesday and Thursday morning, temperatures will be several degrees below zero. On Tuesday morning, the temperature will be just above freezing.
