Pro-Kremlin Ramzan Kadyrov, the head of Chechnya, has reaffirmed that Chechen fighters in Ukraine will assist Moscow in “fighting to the victorious end.”
Kadyrov informed Putin during a visit to the Kremlin on Monday that “we in the Republic (Chechnya) are doing incredibly well, due to you.”
Kadyrov told the Russian president: “The fighters of the Chechen Republic are successfully serving in the special military operation zone, we are fulfilling all your orders and aim to act to the victorious end. The residents of the region fully support the special military operation and consider it necessary to achieve its goals and objectives.”
International and independent observers have charged Kadyrov with flagrant abuses of human rights both inside and outside of his own country.
Although being technically a part of Russian security agencies, he commands sizable paramilitary forces that are loyal to him personally.
