Ukraine calls for more weapons and sanctions against Russia
Ukraine‘s Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal called on Western partners to give his country more weaponry and impose more sanctions on Moscow.
Following overnight Russian assaults that left at least 11 people dead and more than 20 injured across the nation.
“Residential buildings have been hit. There are casualties. We need more weapons and more sanctions to stop the aggressor,” he said in a series of Twitter posts.
Shmyhal urged the UN nuclear watchdog International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to “take decisive action” to stop Russia’s “nuclear terrorism,” noting that the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) was also affected by the strikes, the sixth time since Moscow began its invasion.
