A Ukrainian soldier from the State Border Guard Service said that Russian forces are still attacking the city of Bakhmut in the east on Monday.

“Unfortunately, the city has been under fire since early morning. Mostly with mortars and artillery,” the soldier said in a video released by the service on Monday.

The unnamed soldier said that Russian forces “are trying to push our flanks. But the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, together with its colleagues, is standing firm in its positions.”

“We are doing everything possible to prevent the enemy from entering the city,” he added.

A video posted on social media on Monday alleges to show muddy tracks near Bakhmut where damaged and ruined vehicles have been seen.

It is consistent with the claims of Ukrainian soldiers who claim that they have had to use tracks to enter and exit Bakhmut since the Russian forces are able to attack the main highways into the city.

The footage is also accurate to the local weather right now, as the formerly frozen ground has become mud as a result of rising temperatures.
