Google Docs, eSignatures
The conventional method of collecting a signature through in-person contact; is changing as digitization becomes more common. Google Workspace Individual was released a year ago; as an update for the one-person business that previously used Gmail accounts. The search engine behemoth has now revealed that Google Docs; users will soon have access to eSignature functionality in yet another update. If you work as an event planner or a digital producer; it might be challenging to keep track of contracts; and customer agreements that need to be signed.
Google applauds users for being able to “easily execute agreements from the familiar interface of Docs; without having to switch tabs or apps” thanks to the native eSignature capability. As shown in the animation below; all you need to do is drag & drop the signature; and date onto a text document.
With the inclusion of this new feature; Google Docs will be able to manage contracts more similarly to software like Pandadoc; allowing two parties to review and securely sign a contract; from the convenience of their online browsers. In a test stage, Google says Workspace Individual users; will be able to employ signature updates; but the firm didn’t give a specific timeline for the deployment to all users.
