Viral: Prisoner escapes wearing only his underwear and socks

An unusual event involving a prisoner escaping detention with only his underpants and socks in the UK has surfaced on social media.

According to Dorset Police, the prisoner, Kyle Darren Eglington, 32, bolted from a court prisoner transit van in Poole after attacking security guards. Eglington, who escapes on Saturday morning, is now being sought by police. To apprehend Eglington, police say they are conducting “extensive searches.”

Dorset Police even posted a photo of him on Twitter, asking people to report him if they saw him. Eglington was apparently only wearing underpants and socks when he exited the van, according to authorities.

The accused is described as being white and about 5ft 11in tall. He has a beard and is of medium build. His hair is dark brown and he has a beard.

According to Supt Heather Dixey of Dorset police, “I would urge anyone who has seen a man in the area in just his underwear and socks, or who matches the description given above and appears to be avoiding detection, to please report it to us.”

Dixey added, “There is nothing at this time to suggest he poses a risk to the general public. However, we would urge people not to approach him and to please dial 999 immediately.”
