Early Life and Education
Justice Aamer Farooq was born on 26 April 1969 in Lahore. He got his Senior Cambridge certificate in 1986 from St. Anthony’s High School, Lahore. He completed his Higher Senior Cambridge (HSC) certificate from Aitchison College in 1988. He completed his LLB degree from London University, UK. He qualified as Barrister-at-Law from the prestigious Lincoln’s Inn, London in 1993.
Career
Mr. Aamer Farooq enrolled as an Advocate of the Lahore High Court in 1994 and as an Advocate of the Supreme Court of Pakistan in 2007. Justice Aamer Farooq established his law practice in Lahore and set up an office in Islamabad. He dealt mostly with banking, commercial, tax, and civil matters. He was part of the adjunct faculty at Lahore University of Management Sciences from 2009 to his elevation to the Islamabad High Court.
Islamabad High Court
Justice Aamer Farooq was appointed as Additional Judge of Islamabad High Court on 1 January 2015. He was confirmed as a Judge on 23 December 2015. He is the senior puisne judge of Islamabad High Court after Chief Justice Athar Minallah. He will retire on 25 April 2031.
