The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has sent a summary of the changes in prices of petroleum products to the Finance Ministry.

According to the details, the summary proposed an increase of Rs. 5 in per litre price of petrol based on the current levy.

OGRA has also proposed to increase the price of high speed light diesel by Rs 6 and kerosene by Rs 4.5 per liter. The final decision will be made after the approval of the Prime Minister Imran Khan.

The current levy on petrol is Rs 17.97 per liter and diesel is Rs 18.36 per litre.

In the previous summary sent to the Prime Minister proposed Rs 20.7 paise increase in the per litre price of petrol and diesel by Rs 19.61 paise, which was rejected. In the summary, the prices of petroleum products were fixed on the basis of Rs 30 levy per litre.

Let it be known that the government has increased the price of petrol by about Rs 15 per liter in the last 80 days.

The government had increased the price of petrol by Rs 2.70 per liter in February 2021 while the price of high speed diesel was increased by Rs 2.88 per liter. Whereas the price of light diesel was increased by Rs 3 and kerosene by Rs 3.54 per liter.
