Chicken and egg prices continue to rise in Punjab

The prices of chicken and eggs on Saturday reached a whopping hike.

The price of chicken reached Rs600 per kg.

The price of eggs has reached Rs 400 per dozen.

The people requested the temporary Chief Minister of Punjab to tackle the issues caused by the chicken mafia and make sure essential goods are reasonably priced, easing their difficulties.

In the previous month, the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) instructed the National Price Monitoring Committee (NPMC) to consistently work together with provincial governments. Their goal is to implement measures that ensure stable prices and to prevent hoarding and profiteering.

The cabinet committee meeting was led by the Caretaker Federal Minister for Finance, Revenue, and Economic Affairs, Dr. Shamshad Akhtar, as mentioned in a statement from the finance ministry. The choice was made after a presentation by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) on the current inflation scenario and the recent patterns in the prices of essential goods.
