Spotify introduces New Video Learning Courses in the UK

Spotify is expanding its services beyond just music and podcasts by introducing video-based learning courses. This new feature aims to make Spotify a one-stop platform for entertainment and education.

Collaborating with content creators like BBC Maestro, PLAYvirtuoso, Thinkific Labs Inc., and Skillshare, Spotify is offering courses in music production, creativity, business education, and wellness.

The company sees this as an opportunity to connect educational content creators with its user base while enhancing its own content offerings. The trial for these courses is currently available only to users in the UK, with both free and premium subscribers eligible for at least two complimentary lessons from each course. The courses are priced between £20 ($25) and £80 ($101), and the availability and pricing may change based on user feedback during the testing phase.

This move follows Spotify’s recent introduction of music videos in beta, although these videos are limited to certain countries and not yet available in the US.
